Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Sharon Hull and I am in the class of 2015. I am 5'9'' and weigh 145 lbs. I am enrolled in three AP courses this year as well as honors physics, honors pre-calculus, and Chinese III. I strive to achieve excellence in the classroom as well as on the basketball floor. In college, I aspire to be a pre-med major, where I can focus on my life time goal of becoming a surgeon. I would love to go to a school that challenges me not only on the basketball floor, but in the classroom and in the community. Basketball has been a huge part of my life. In my eyes, it mirrors life. There are transitions, times where one decision could make or break you, and opportunities to set all worries aside and to just go for it.
Leadership is something that speaks to me. It played a part of my life in school as the sophomore class president last year, and this year I am a transition mentor for new upper school students. Leadership also played a unique role in my basketball experience. This past high school season, I had to step to the plate and bring everyone with me at times, because we were a young team, and I was willing to take the responsibility for our victories as well as our defeats.
"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and to become more, you are a leader." - John Quincy Adams
