Personal Statement
My name is Nora Olagbaju and I am a 6 ft power forward and small forward. I am extremely interested and passionate about playing basketball at the next level and would be a great addition to your program because I bring a strong work ethic, drive for improvement, and high basketball IQ. I am currently a junior at Montgomery Blair High school in Silver Spring, Maryland and have been playing on the varsity team since my freshman year. I strive for success on and off the court, and academics are a top priority for me. I was accepted, and am a part of the Communication Arts Magnet Program at my school and have a 3.7 GPA and have maintained a 3.9 weighted GPA incorporating my AP classes. This year I have stepped up to a leadership role on my high school team, and lead the team in both scoring and rebounds. This season I'm averaging 20 points per game and 15 rebounds. My work ethic last season paid off and as a result I was on the East All-Division first team. My coaches would describe me as someone who hustles and is a threat on both ends of the floor. I am a facilitator as well as a go to player on offense for quick back to the basket buckets, mid-range jump shots, and finishing around the basket. My focus on rebounding has helped us win many tough battles the year. I am an athlete with a team mentality and am looking forward to contributing to my team at the college level.
