I am Jess Wall from Freeport, Maine and I am very hard working and determined. I play on my high school team at Freeport High School and I consider myself to be a strong and aggressive post player. At my school I am a post and center on my team. I play for a small school with about 500 students. Outside of school basketball I play with the Blue Wave AAU program in the Fall and Spring. I play basketball year round and find myself to be a leader on the teams that I play for. I want to play basketball in college because I want to keep pushing myself to get to the next level of competition and be able to better myself as an athlete.
As a student, I try to challenge myself with my classes by taking some honors classes and AP classes. I currently have a 3.7 GPA and I am taking my SAT April 15th. Over the past three years I have received honor roll recognition. After High School I would like to study business administration and management, and have thought about also doing something in the culinary field.
I started out my junior season out well with a new coach and a great team. I was learning a lot and getting better as a player, but I only was able to play two games this season due to falling in a game and tearing my ACL. It was not an ideal start to my season but I am planning on working hard to recover quickly, so that I can get back on to the court and continue working hard at getting better. My surgery was successful and I have begun Physical Therapy. I plan on being able to compete in our summer basketball season. I have been doing very well in PT and it is looking like I will be playing in one to two months.
