Personal Statement
I have many goals and aspirations in life, but my main goal is to be able to play basketball or track and field at the college level. I believe the most important trait an athlete can bring to their team is leadership. I think there is no greater feeling than the one you experience when you know your teammates can look up to you as a leader. A few other traits I also feel strongly about are teamwork, sportsmanship, hard work, and respect. These are important to me because I believe they make a team one and they are traits that can also be used outside of your athletics. Additionally, I am extremely coachable. My coaches refer to me as a sponge due to being able to absorb what they teach me. Unlike some athletes, I listen to everything my coaches have to tell me because I know they want me to become a better player/athlete just as much as I do. Outside of sports and school, I love spending time with family and friends, learning about what is going on in the world, going to school events and helping others. I quit volleyball to make more time doing what I love most, basketball and track & field. I truly hope to attend a college that will help me accomplish my dreams of playing a sport at the college level and will expand my options for the bright future ahead of me.
