Personal Statement
My personal academic goals as a young, ambitious teenager are to study in the field of radiology, more specifically to become a doctor of radiology. As you can see by my transcript, I am working hard. I was promoted to varsity as a freshman. Going from being the only freshman and the youngest on the team gave me a chance to observe the different characteristics a good basketball player should have; like: time management, leadership, encouragement, and self-motivation. As a sophomore I received all-conference first team honorable mention, and as a junior I received the teams Governor award for my leadership and knowledge of the game, as we were crowned District Champions and Regional Champions. During my tenure as a three year varsity player I have played all five positions. This has given me a great knowledge of the game not only from a player perspective but as well as a coaches perspective. Between my sophomore and junior year I played AAU basketball and was listed in the 2013 edition of the Best of All AAU Players. During my junior year I was called on for many games to show my defensive prowess to maintain and contain the opponents bigger and better players. I started several games as our point guard. I bring to the game a strong will to win, to assist my teammates to be successful and a very versatile game knowing each position. I have developed a keen eye for reading defenses, a strong ability to score when I am needed to score and a tenacious will to defend against my opponents. I believe that my capabilities on the floor allow me to push myself and my teammates harder and to instill in myself a never quit attitude that becomes infectious with the team.
