Personal Statement
My mother was killed when I was one so my development has been through my grandparents and my father. They instilled in me; integrity, respect for myself and others, enjoy today but plan for tomorrow, be positive and productive, know that I need to "do my best, to be my best". My grandmother would always say; "What is for you, can't no one take from you but you" meaning that I would have to practice, practice, practice to be my best self and this I do on a daily base. I started playing a variety of sports at a young age i.e. volleyball, track and basketball but when going into the 9th grade, I decided that basketball is what I LOVED and still love. I knew that I wanted to continue this enjoyment even going into college. The lessons that I have learned, I believe, I carry and can continue throughout my life, in school, work and home. Also, it has taught me to have, great work-ethnics, commitment, dedication, to be a team player, a leader that can follow which makes me coachable with a willingness to learn and to be balance. I have taken these lessons and placed them into a daily life lesson plan that are to be practiced too. I am grateful and humble to my teachers, (grandparents, father, and others) and all opportunities given to me, then, now and yet to come.
