Rachel Vite '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Rachel Vite and I am a senior at Edwardsburg Public High School. I am 5'10, weigh 140 lbs., and I am a three-sport varsity athlete: basketball, volleyball, and track. My most important accomplishments are receiving three basketball awards this past year ('09-'10): 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-Area (SW Michigan), and Most Valuable Player. In Women's Track I received 1st-Team All Conference (High Jump) as well as MVP. In volleyball I received Most Improved Player. In '08-'09, as a sophomore, I was a "School of Choice" transfer student to Edwardsburg, so unfortunately I had to sit out the first half of the basketball season (MHSAA rules). Only able to play the final 10 games, I still received the Honorable Mention All-Conference award. Also, I was on the cross-country team my sophomore year and attended every practice although I was ineligible to compete because of my transfer status. I offer my team leadership as well as determination and a hard work ethic. I give my all every day at practice and always push myself to do better. I also bring encouragement to my team and believe that team unity is essential. I am looking for a medium-sized academically challenging school. I want a school that has an active Christian student organization. While I am currently undecided in a major, I am leaning towards business or sports medicine. My goal is to ultimately be a starter on the varsity women's basketball team. However, I would be happy to play at any level because I really enjoy the game of basketball.
