Personal Statement
I am competitive, a versatile player, a very hard worker and I am always ready to learn new skills. I have the speed, drive, determination and ambition to be the best I can be in sports, academics and in my everyday life. I am a team player, have great ball handling skills, a high vertical, and the will to learn. I want to learn from others and hope to inspire many.
It has been a dream of mine to play at the collegiate level ever since I was a little girl watching the "big girls" play. I have set goals every year and have worked hard to reach them. In elementary school, my goal was to be a guard. I practiced everyday at recess, at home in the driveway, and went to as many camps as I could. I reached that goal and have been a guard ever since. In junior high, my goal was to be the highest scorer and to touch the backboard. I worked very hard in the off season on shooting skills and on my vertical and accomplished these goals as well. In high school, my goal was a little bit different, it was to make the varsity team as a freshman, learn as much as possible and most importantly, have fun! So far, this to has been a success!
In the classroom, I study hard to maintain a high GPA and have great relationships with my teachers. I have assisted teaching elementary children how to play basketball and to be team players. I strive to be a role model both on and off the court. I also play varsity volleyball and participate in track. Outside of sports, I am involved in band, drumline and math league.
My collegiate goals are to excel in the classroom as well as on the court. I want to attend a college that can fulfill my dreams and aspirations of becoming an independent, strong, productive woman. I am open to all possibilities and hope to find the best college fit for me. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my life forever!
