Personal Statement

I am a shooting guard from Springfield, MO. I am a natural shooter but love to drive the ball as well. I played on the varsity team as a freshman and started my sophomore year. As a sophomore, I averaged 9.7 points per game and shot over 88% at the free throw line. In my junior year, I stepped up as a team leader and led my team in scoring and free throw percentage. I was also named to the NCA All-Tournament Team and 1st team All-District.

I am currently enrolled in the IB Diploma Program at my high school, which is rigorous, and have a perfect 5.0 weighted GPA. My ACT score is 32. I am extremely focused on my academics, but also involved in a number of extracurriculars in addition to playing basketball. I am on the varsity softball and debate teams, as well as a member of several different clubs. I also placed 5th in the nation at the 2012 National History Day competition in senior group documentary.
