Personal Statement
Moving from Ohio to North Carolina in the middle of high school has so far been the highlight of my high school career. I feel as though I have grown both in academics and athletics because of this move, it makes you open your eyes more to what is really out there. I have been able to experience more things as a basketball player because of this move. This experience has helped me to become a shooting guard that is capable to play at the college level.
I am glad to be apart of a program that doesn't win every game, because of that I have learned the real meaning of teamwork. I have learned that in the game of basketball you have to be committed to the sport. In the game of basketball I learned most this year is how to be a team leader. I was asked to be point guard for my high school team even though I wasn't the best ball handler on the team. Being asked to play different positions that you never thought you'd play teaches you new things every game. This past year I have learned as a student-athlete that hard work and commitment pays off. As a two-sport athlete and first time captain, I know what it takes to be a leader on your team!
