Personal Statement
When I put my mind to something that I want, I will do everything possible to get myself where I need to be. Basketball is a passion for me - it is a constant teacher of both life skills and of things I will carry with me into the future. I strive to be a leader, not only on the court but in the classroom as well. I believe that work in the classroom is just as important as work on the court. Basketball and academics can provide endless opportunities and I am focused on using both of them to add value to a collegiate women’s basketball program. In the classroom, I always stay ahead and prepare for projects and assignments. I completed my Sophomore year in June 2015 with a 3.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale and I rank 14 out of 402 students. As my Junior year ended,
Having the opportunity to participate on a higher level basketball team at Forest Trail Academy (formerly New Hope Christian Academy), and playing AAU with Lady Phoenix Elite under coach Coach Delaney Rudd, my junior year has allowed me to return to North Davidson. Returning to North Davidson will allow me to have the opportunity to lead my previous team to a possible conference championship. The basketball skills and intense training that I got to experience within my Junior year will carry over and have the chance to intensify due to the amount of time I plan on spending in the gym, in preparation for my Senior season. I am taking this change as an opportunity to not only grow as a player, but to allow my love for the game spread, onto those who will play with and under me. Moving back to North Davidson High School is another step in achieving my goal of playing college basketball, and nothing will get in my way.
