Personal Statement
I started running track at the age of six and picked up basketball a year later. I was really enjoying track because I was fast and coming in the top three of all my races. Then the time came when my parents made me choose between the two for my summer traveling sport. My parents were pushing track but the more I had that ball in my hand the more I wanted to play ball. I had to learn about making tough decisions, sacrifice and commitment early on. The love began for the game and I have had a ball in hand year round ever since. I can’t image the ball to stop dribbling after high school, it’s just unimaginable, and therefore my goal is to play basketball at the collegiate level while earning a college degree. I would be a great asset to a college team because I am a hard worker, I get the job done in the classroom and on the court, I am a leader on and off the court, I am coachable, disciplined and willing to learn. I am a team player who makes the people around me better. I have the ability to see the floor well and be the general on the floor. I feel I would be a great addition to any team because of my love of the game and my open mindedness to new ideas, new people and new challenges. I have a great work ethic, and my athletic and academic abilities would be a positive addition to any college and team. My career aspiration is to become a Certified Registered Nursing Anesthetists (CRNA) and have an impact in patients lives. Using my abilities on the court to obtain an athletic scholarship to pay for my college education would truly be a blessing and a dream come true.
