Haley Higgins '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Haley Higgins and I go to North Buncombe High School. I am currently a sophomore starting on our varsity team. I played varsity as a freshman and also got to start. I finished the season with 322 points. I am around 5'4" and weigh 125 pounds. I take honors classes and always keep my grades up. I have always had a love for the sport. I am willing to work as hard as it takes to win and to help myself and my teammates become better players. I always go as hard as I can and take responsibility for my actions, on and off the court. I will not make excuses ever. Any school that is interested in me will definitely be put into consideration, although, a smaller to medium sized school would be ideal for me. I want to go somewhere where I can focus on my education and basketball as one. A school where I can make a positive impact on the team and use everything I know how to do to make us better while learning to do new things. Financial need is somewhat of an issue. Without a scholarship of some sort, I do not see how I will be able to attend college. I have played club basketball with the WNC Lady Royals for the past 4 years and intend to continue to play until my high school career is over. Playing college basketball has always been a major goal in my life. When I get older, I want to be a Physical Education teacher and basketball coach so that I can help young athletes accomplish their goals as well.
