Hello ,
My name is Jalana Oliver and I am currently attending Winslow Township High School . My collegiate goals are something that I have been talking about since I was 9. I am very focused in school and take my grades very seriously. I believe without having phenomenal grades one can not be successful in life, and being successful is my number one priority in life. I would say that I want to earn and maintain top notch grades like A's in every course I take. I also, would want to be a great player on the court as well. So, athletically I am doing a nice job and more importantly my grades are high. My aspiration in life would be to become a professional WNBA Player, after I get my diploma and graduate from college. Something that makes me a good candidate for anybody's team is that I strive for greatness. Having somebody that cares about education before anything else and is a hard working athlete is how I describe myself and that is what makes me a good candidate. A lot of athletes dreams are to go pro. But, to go pro you obviously have to go to college. So what makes me different from any other recruit trying to achieve the same thing as me? I am dedicated to what I do. I want to be the first person in the gym and the last to leave. Hard work pays off in the long run and I am going to work hard for what I want. Nothing in this world is giving to you and I am going to work hard to make my family proud of me, and to make myself happy. In athletics I believe that I am a good basketball player. I have been dribbling basketball since I was three and I am certain that this is what I want to do in my life. I am not cocky because I know there is a lot of work to be done , to improvemy skills and everyday I am working to make myself better. In academics, I would have to say that I was raised to take my grades seriously. Ever since I started pre-school I heard " Is your homework done Jalana?" " Did you study for your math test Jalana?" And still to this day that is what I hear. So I know to get A's and B's and if I don't I'm not just in trouble but I'm hurting myself all colleges want students with good grades and if I don't get them I believe that I won;t be successful in life. I know that in in my life I want to say that I achieved my dreams. I work hard because I want to be successful in life, because that is all my parents want from me. I believe that I can do this with the grace of God and hard work, dedication, and determination.
Thank you and have a blessed day,
Jalana
