Personal Statement
Hi My name is Jenny Freedman. I am a 5’7” point guard from North Hampton, NH. I have been on Winnacunnet High School’s varsity team for 2.5 years.
During my Freshman year we made it to the finals, and then during my Sophomore year we made it to final four. Junior year we made it to the quarter finals.
During this season as a junior although I was not a captain, I was still a leader on the team. As the point guard I took on a lot of responsibility within the team, and with that responsibility came a lot of hard work.
I’m looking for a school that is in the East Coast area so that I can stay close to my family, but would consider looking at schools farther away. I’m looking for a small-medium size school, that has teachers who like to get to know their students rather than having them be just another face in a large lecture hall. I think that when looking at a school, there are many little things that will help to make the decision, that being with or without the opportunity to play college basketball.
That being said, it is my goal to play sports in college. I have always watched college basketball on TV, and could imagine myself playing since I was a little girl. The game has always intrigued me and having the opportunity to play at the next level would be such a gift.
As a player, I am fast paced who sees the floor well and always looks for the open player. I think it is just as important getting an assist as scoring a basket. I love being able to get by my defender and be able to collapse the defense around me and kick it out to an open player for a shot.
