Personal Statement

People always ask: “why does this sport means so much to you”? I always answer that it helped shape me into the person I am today. Resilience and drive have bonded together all the aspects that make me uniquely me and will ensure my success in college . Basketball is my entire life. Even when I am old and crippled, I will still remember every last second of my basketball career and the resilience it fostered in my soul.

Basketball demands “resilience” and has made me more resilient because, every day, I think how I can succeed and practice skills I need to further improve my game.  Resilience is also about being tested. When things don’t go the way I want them to, I do not back away.  Instead, I overcome adversity by trying even harder. Resilience on the court translates to resilience in my academic program.  I cannot demonstrate resilience in basketball and expect things to be handed to me in my classwork.  Both require extraordinary personal effort for success. Therefore, I demand excellence for myself in my scholarship just as much as in my sport.

I am a leader on and off the court and am able to play any position or role needed to reach team goals.  I am a student of the game that I love and want to be around other people that feel the same.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
