Hello my name is Alexandria Williams or just Alex. I consistently play two sports, Volleyball and Basketball. Basketball has always been a sport I had become passionate about. At the time, as a little kid I would spend time practicing by myself learning the basics of dribbling, shooting and defense. From then on I would continue to play with friends and family. Throughout my sports career I had joined Las Vegas Elite, and from there I developed fundamentally. When my 8th grade year came my team went undefeated in our conference and went to championships. Now I was practicing twice a day; for my aau team and my middle school team. I continued playing with Vegas Elite until the end of my freshman year, where I had joined Las Vegas Storm. Now, I travel and compete at higher levels with Las Vegas Storm while also being coached by the best coaches and progressing my game and skills. While having a sport to play every season, going to school and church, I received numerous amounts of advice on how I can strive for the best future for me as possible. My goal for every sports season is to add a championship to my resume. I have had the chance to win over 5 tournament championships and 2 school team championships. I also have received awards for academics, and most improved while playing basketball and volleyball at Chaparral High School in Las Vegas Nevada. Another goal of mine, is to earn academic and athletic scholarships to colleges to help create my future and to expand my knowledge of basketball at a higher level. I would like to be playing basketball at the highest collegiate level and learning in the medical field for sports medicine or major in marine biology and oceanography. I'm looking forward to a bright future by pushing myself and fulfilling my dreams. The feedback I have gotten from my coaches about me is that I am coachable, knowledgeable, eager to play and learn the game in every different way. I take the coaches feedback on what I can improve on and work on it with extra effort. These past two years I have been involved in college camps. I enjoy attending different camps out of state. I like to get to know the coaches and how they coach, as well as the teammates as players and people. Someone once gave a speech during a team meeting and one thing I remember is that "are you trying or are you doing, because you're not trying the game of basketball, but you're doing it." So I find myself doing more than trying. My family support system has always encouraged me to play as many sports possible. This way I can learn, become a better athlete skill wise and create self discipline. I have been taught that student comes before athlete. Studying and doing class/homework is a big part of me. I am truly thankful and blessed to have the experience of being enrolled at a magnet elementary school and middle school and taking AP/Honors courses currently. Every teacher I have had has helped me prepare for high school and maybe even college. I am constantly preparing for my future. It's not that I can't do it, but that I did a little bit more than everyone else. Whether it's studying or practicing on a daily basis. I'm excited to see my future and goals expand, through basketball and pursuing a career in something that I enjoy and love doing.
