Personal Statement
Ever since I started playing basketball in fourth grade, I've always loved it. I'll admit, I definitely wasn't the best player with the greatest skills in the beginning but, you can ask any of my coaches and they'll tell you I always tried to be the hardest working player that I could be. I started out as a forward and realized as I got older that I would not be one of the tallest girls on the court like I was when I was younger. I slowly transitioned into the guard position and now currently am playing on an aau team and preparing for tryouts. I was the starting point guard and captain for my jv team last year as a freshman and I will be on varsity this year.
I plan to play basketball in college and major in physical therapy or sports management to be a coach of a college team. It's always been my dream to coach a college basketball team. I want to learn and develop as a player to the best of my abilities in hope that not only will I grow as an individual player and a teammate, but also I will take all that I've experienced into account in future endeavors as a coach. I would love to take all that I've learnt as a player of the game and spread that knowledge to other developing athletes, like myself.
I work hard in school and I work even harder on the court. I will always take in what my coach tells me to improve on and try to do it the very best I can. I'll do whatever it takes to improve my game. I'd love to play basketball in college in the future. I think I could be a really great asset to the team, whether it's by scoring, assisting, or supporting my teammates from the side lines. I have a hunger for this sport that will not be satisfied until I reach my full potential and accomplished all personal goals.
