My main goal while in college is to succeed as a student athlete. I would like to come out of college confident and prepared to start a successful future. Similar qualities are required on the court and in the classroom. You must have some talent but must also be hard-working and dedicated. I believe I would make a good candidate at the next level because I possess these qualities. I am also different from other candidates in many ways. I have a good, positive attitude – when something may not look so bright or after a tough situation, I can easily connect and bond with others. As for the athletic aspect, I bring a positive energy to the court and have a sound basketball IQ. I may not lead the team in scoring every night, but I do the necessary things to help make me a more all-around and complete basketball player. For example, boxing out, getting rebounds, hustling for loose balls, making the next pass leading to an easier shot, being active and aggressive on defense, blocking shots – whatever is necessary to help our team compete and succeed. I am as competitive in the classroom as I am on the court. I currently rank 8th out of a class of 116 and take many rigorous honors courses. I strive to be the top student or best in my class. I am confident in my abilities and my hard-working mentality and believe that I would be a good fit and asset to the right program at the collegiate level.
