Personal Statement
Throughout the years of attending Preble Shawnee High School, I have done many things for my community, school, and church. I attend Christ Commission Temple. There I speak to the youth on occasions, attend to the nursery, and help out people in the community. I love my church and I give God all the glory. Secondly, I help out the community by having one on one sessions with girls who need extra help with basketball, and all ways having my hand in something to do to better for our small town in Preble County.
I feel like I have grown the most not only in basketball, but in myself during my sophomore year. My team come close to winning league, and making it to sectionals in the SWBL tournament. I took it upon myself to show my teammates that getting in the gym during the summer, making the extra reps and getting in the weight room could get us there next year. Being a varsity player for four years, and playing competitive AAU for four years, I push myself to be not only a better basketball player, but a better teammate and student in my academics, child, leader, and for myself to be proud. I’m passionate about basketball and school. While attending collage I plan to do the same thing not only on the court, but also off the court. When I’m on the court and off I am coachable, devoted, physical, active, and aggressive. I feel I can make a positive impact at any collage. I am seeking for a strong nursing program that would benefit me in my collage years, and after collage as well. Being a nurse has been my dream since eighth grade, and I decided last year that my passion was to be a labor and delivery nurse. Being able to see God’s gift every day would be amazing. I am currently attending Miami Valley Career Technology Center where I’m in my second year in a Health Careers Academy program. I will receive my STNA certification in January of 2018. In my high school years I have obtained good grades, good attendance and a 3.6 GPA or higher. I have also been on the honor role for two years.
I invasion my collage years to be a personal growth period. My goal is to explore a science major that will position me well for medical school. On the court, I plan to be a dynamic player and positive influence on the team. As I grow both physically and mentally throughout my college basketball career, I will strive to be an asset for rebounding offense and defense, working well with the point guard, blocking shots, and playing tough defenses. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the court, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches and the school I attend.
