Personal Statement
The reason I got into sports was to stay fit, but when I started getting out there and trying new things I learned I had potential in many different sports. I enjoy new challenges and haven’t found a sport I don’t like. When I started running in 6th grade, I learned that it helped me in any thing I did. My passion is basketball, and running came hand in hand with that! I’ve tried everything from swim team to golf. I like being a part of a team but also like challenging myself as an individual to find my personal best. Encouraging others to do the same is very rewarding!
The shortest goal I have right now would be to run the full 26.2 mile Oklahoma City Memorial marathon before I graduate high school. I have ran the 13.1 half marathon twice so far. My second goal is trying to get straight A’s this year, which is my junior year. My next goal would be to obtain a college scholarship to play basketball because it’s what I love doing. I live, eat, and breathe basketball, and don’t want to stop playing. My long term goal would be to either become a coach, a personal trainer, or a police officer. It’s in my blood to help people.
