Personal Statement
I have been surrounded by basketball my whole life. Since I was five years old I knew my goal was to play at the collegiate level, and after that to coach. Basketball is a huge part of my life and I am looking forward to perusing a career at the next level.
In the classroom I strive for success and I am committed to maintaining good grades. I have a great work ethic in the classroom as well as the basketball court. Throughout my school experience I have taught myself how to be a successful student-athlete. I understand that academics come before athletics, and your ability on the basketball court is nothing without the success in the classroom. I have taken three years of Honors Spanish, and a year of exploratory Latin and German.
On the court I have solid ball handling skills, and an excellent basketball IQ. I am very coachable and love learning new things. I always want to be the hardest worker; I always try and be the first in the gym and the last to leave. I also spend a lot of time perfecting my jump shot, off the bounce as well as stand still. Defensively I am a solid on ball and off the ball defender. I am very competitive and hate to lose; I will work hard and give you everything that I have.
I also am a part of the Young Achievers program, which is a college readiness program and this is my second year. Along with that this summer will be my third year of keeping score for a local youth softball team, I enjoy being around all the kids. I love motivating and working with children to help encourage them to work hard.
I want to find the college that I can push myself in the classroom and on the court. I know that it is not going to be easy but I am looking forward to the challenge. Hope to hear from you soon!
