Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Emily Smith. I am a 5"6" 132lb. and 17 years old. I have been playing basketball since the second grade. I started with the local league then moved to travel & CYO, from there I play high level AAU and in high school. I was recruited to play for Lansdale Catholic as a freshman. Coach Joe Mack from LC approached my CYO coach during the season and invited me to open gyms. From there it was a perfect fit for me. As a freshman I played in 24 varsity games. So far my high school career is starting off good and I continue to work hard to keep improving. Currently, I play AAU for the Montgomery Fusion team as a Shooting Guard/Small Forward. I also go once a week to Jay Jameson for private training. I am a highly motivated individual on and off the court. I am an all around solid basketball player on both the offensive and defensive ends. Academically I have a 3.4 GPA and am attending Lansdale Catholic on the Maguire Foundation Academic Scholarship. My goal is to continue my education and basketball career at college.
My Sophomore year (2016-2017) I was a Varsity starter and helped my team make it to Districts.
Senior year and I am back on the court after tearing my ACL June of 2017. Finished my AAU season with Montgomery Fusion winning our Pool at the 2018 USJN's. I was selected to be one of team Captains for Lansdale Catholic for a second year. It's early in the season and my team is looking good and I am happy to be back on the court.
