Personal Statement
Growing up in a family with absolutely no experience at the collegiate level, my goals are short and simple.
1. Make my family proud.
2. Exceed in my academic expectations and get involved in the medical field.
3. Play college basketball.
My family is my everything and every choice I make is for them. I put my heart and soul into every task I am a part of. My academics, being the most important thing to me, is my number one priority in school. Basketball with always be a part of my life, but my education is my future. I try my best to maintain a 4.0 GPA (currently a 4.054) while striving to be the best athlete I can physically be. On the court I push for unselfishness. I believe in sharing the ball and that the best opportunities in a play often occur after at least 3 passes. Hearing my coaches say, "Could have been one more pass," has made me into the player that I am today. I play with passion, I help others when they fall, I am confident in not just myself but every single player on the bench. In addition, these last few seasons have really helped shape my shot and my most confident attribution to my team is my 3 point shot. I believe in Malcolm Gladwell's theory, a famous author who coined the 10,000 hour rule stating that in order to really be good at something you must put in 10,000 hours of practice. Being a Sophomore starter that plays the guard and forward position at a staggering 5'2" for Blackhawk High School is an honor, a blessing, and something I am beyond thankful for. Everyone in my life means so much to me and I cannot wait to see what is in store for me. Thank you!
