Shelby Kosiver '19 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball since first grade.  My love of the sport has continued to grow each year.  Depending on the need at each game, I am able to play Center, Forward and Guard...sometimes more than one in any given game.  I am a strong post player and for my height, I have exceptional ball handling skills.  As a Freshman I was brought up to the Varsity Team and started a few games.  As a Sophomore, I start every Varsity game with few to no breaks and was chosen by the league to represent my school in the Division II All Star game.  I am proud to represent my team and the school I'm from.  Our team realizes the importance of family and friendship on and off the court.

I have also played soccer since I was five years old.  I have been a starting Varsity defender since Freshman year.  I was chosen as a Division II All State player.

Along with participating in class council, I work with younger players in our school's recreational basketball program to help further their skills in and knowledge of the game of basketball.

I take pride and work very hard to achieve high academic grades.  I realize the importance of maintaining appropriate grades in order to continue playing for the team.  It is also very important to me to achieve high grades to help further my education in college and future career.  I am looking to attend a college or university with a challenging curriculum in the classroom and a competitive basketball team on the court.
