Personal Statement
My absolute long term goal is to be successful in life and doing what I love most to get there. I am extremely driven and highly competitive. Whatever I set out to do, I give it my all. I have been quite successful at Nueces Canyon High school. This year alone (2015), I earned MVP in District, TBCA All State for basketball, and lead my team all the way to Regionals. I didn't stop there, I am also involved in our UIL One Act Play. Although we did not advance, I was awarded All Star Cast which was very impressive, and personally rewarding, considering I only had eight lines. Like I said, I am very competitive! Moving on to UIL Pros, I advanced to Regionals with my piece. In track, I led my team with over half the points to win the Distrist Champ Title. I also advanced to Regionals in five events. 200 m run, high jump, tripple jump, and the mile relay. Lastly, at the end of our season, our coach has an off season program. It is a set of skills, and physical tests. She awards t-shirts to display your level of placement. I set a goal last year to earn the Jaguar, which is the highest you can earn. Sadly, I was short by a few points. This year though, I pushed hard and earned it! I'm proud to say, in the 10 years that my coach has done this program, I am only one of three girls who have earned the title Jaguar! It is an honor I am very proud of and plan to hang on to, my next two years in highschool.
I am the perfect candidate for your team because I don't quit. When it gets harder, I go harder. When my coach corrects me, I listen. I work hard, I work well with others, and I am always looking to improve. I am seventeen years old and hungry for the opportunity.
