I have been playing all sports all my life. I am very athletic, competitive, strong and love to win. In my sophomore year it all crystallized into one sport - basketball. I love to play power forward and I love the game. I was All-District this year, with stats in the top three - five for steals, assists, rebounds and charges. Offensively I am now dependable for 8-12 points a game and my shooting is constantly improving.
I have always been an extremely strong defensive player and my coaches can confirm that the opponent's scoring noticeably drops when I'm in. I see that as my first job and I always do my job. In my senior year I also came on strong offensively. I now have a really good mid-game, a consistent 10-12 foot jumper and a 75% layup percentage. If I miss and I am fouled and can hit 75% of my foul shots. I love the teamwork in the game whether assisting or celebrating with the teammate that shot me a pass under the boards so I could score. I also really enjoy a good fight for possession and coming up with the ball. I recognize that I need more polish on my ball handling and a bit more finesse in quick moves to the hoop. I will be working hard over the summer on these parts of my game.
I am a strong student and am thinking of writing, architecture or medicine - not yet sure. But I do know I have to play ball in college regardless. It's in my blood. I know that I will be a strong, reliable player and can rise to any level depending on the needs of the team and demands of my coaches.
