Personal Statement

I started playing basketball at the age of eight years old. Once I decided to make basketball my primary sport, I was inspired by watching some of my favorite basketball players that I should push myself to compete and play at the highest level. With that being said, I abandoned AAU Track and Cross Country to do so. Although, I do not run track or cross country anymore, I still train to keep my speed and endurance up. Things that make me unique as a student athlete are my academics, being a military dependent, speed and quickness, shooting ability, ball handling, an elusive first step, aggressive defender and great court vision with a high basketball IQ. My goals are to attend a respectable college or university that will allow me to continue playing basketball and obtain a Bachelor's of Science degree in Physical Therapy so I can become a Physical Therapist and or Athletic Trainer. I would love to become a professional basketball player and plan to train hard so that I can at least award myself the opportunity to be considered. If that does not workout then I will have my college education to be dependent on.

Club Information

  • Seasons of Club Experience
  • 8 seasons
  • 2017 San Antonio Finest (TayBo) (AAU)
  • 2016 SoCal Select/Valley 17U White (AAU ASGR)
  • 2015 Cal Storm Red (AAU Nike)
  • Great season, this team consisted of all class of 2018 players. Being on this team I was the primary point guard and I was forced to improve my basketball IQ and leadership abilities.
  • 2014 Cal Storm 14U Elite (AAU Nike)
  • I have been playing for this organization since December 2013. This program is steered on a collegiate level and very competitive. I feel that if I stay committed to this organization and continue to train and improve my individual skills, I will achieve my goal which is continuing to play basketball at the next level.
  • 2014 Swish-n-Swag (AAU 8th Grade)
  • Great experience playing on two different clubs. My roles are extremely different on both teams. What I envy about this team is I have the opportunity to develop more at the point guard position and being a leader.
  • 2013 KELLY MILL MIDDLE SCHOOL (MIDDLE SCHOOL)
  • Only 7th grade starter. I was the starting PG. Led my team to a 10-2 record with one loss I did not play in due to flu like symptoms and the second lost being a one point buzzer beater.
  • 2013 LIGHTS OUT (AAU 8TH GRADE)
  • This year the team was mostly 8th graders and we played in all high school tournaments. Although I just relocated here in February, I made an immediate impact with my speed, aggressiveness defensively and offensively.
  • 2012 SOUTH CAROLINA STARS (AAU)
  • AAU NATIONALS FRANKLIN, TN. I was a leader on the team all season defensively and offensively with my basketball IQ, confidence and poise.

Great camp, looking forward to more challenges in the near future.

  • 6/14 vs Salesian Cyclones won 53-23. I scored 11 points, 5 steals and 3 assists. 6/14 vs Swift (Blue) won 58-33. I scored 9 points, 6 steals, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks. 6/15 vs Cal Storm (14U Select) won 58-39. I scored 7 points, 4 steals, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Overall, we went undefeated the entire weekend, but what I admired the most was my new coach. Chelsea Gray, the former Duke standout point guard who was the #11 pick in the WNBA draft this year.

  • John Burroughs High School Varsity Summer League
  • 6/10/14 to 7/31/14
  • 6/10 vs Saugus High School, we won 43-23. Even though this was my first high school game, I felt very comfortable. I scored 8 points and 3 assists off the bench. Additionally, I had 3 steals on defense. 6/17 vs Chaminade, we lost 50-31. Even though we lost to the California Division 2 State Champs, I feel that we had a chance to beat them. The score was 23-21 at halftime, but they made some adjustments in the 2nd half and ran away with the game. Offensively, it was not my best performance as I struggled getting my jump shots to go in. Defensively, I was matched up with their best player Valerie Higgins who is 6'0 and I was able to keep her from scoring only 10 points. She did not have any points in the 1st half of the game. 6/18 vs Viewpoint, we won 41-23. I scored 12 points, 3/3 on 3 pointers, 0 turnovers and 2 rebounds. 6/24 vs Canyon, we lost 27-30. I scored 2 points, 2 assists and 3 steals. I was extremely disappointed my teammates did not move the ball around that well. Additionally, I did not have an opportunity to touch the ball that much because of it. I will talk to my point guard and other teammates on not allowing the ball to stick and having better court vision. 7/1 vs John Burroughs High School, we lost 53-40. I scored 8 points, 4 assists, 4 steals and 5 rebounds. 7/15 vs La Salle High School, we won 52-39. I did not score any points in the first half, but scored the first 8 points in the second half. Overall I ended the game with 12 points, 3 assists, 1 turnover, 5 steals, 1 block and 2 rebounds. Our summer season is over and I look forward to training hard and getting prepared for the regular season in November.

  • Swift 12th Annual Hawaiian Classic
  • 5/31/14 to 6/01/14
  • We played in the High School Varsity Silver Division. 5/31 vs Swift 1954 Hoops, we won 41-20. I had 19 points, 6 assists, 7 steals and 2 blocks. 5/31 vs Elite Dynasty we won 35-31. I had 16 points, 4 assists, 4 steals and 5 rebounds. This was a very tough game because our starting point guard went out with a forearm injury after the first couple minutes of the game. With that being said, I had to assume the responsibilities as the point guard for the remainder of the game and basically played the entire game because of it. I was drained on both ends of the floor, but had to push through it to get the victory. This was a tough win against some good competition and I learned a lot from it. 6/1 vs Salesian Force Thunder lost 31-45. I scored 9 points, 2 assists, and 5 steals. We should not have lost this game, but we did because we were not aggressive on offense. 6/1 vs Orange Lutheran High School won 29-27 which allowed us to be in 3rd place overall out of 16 total teams in our division. I scored 6 points, 3 assists and 2 steals. I also fouled out with 7 minutes left in the game. This was by far my worst game the entire weekend and I plan to train hard to ensure that it never happens again.

  • This was my first tournament with Cal Storm. We ended up at 3-0, but lost in the championship game versus SGV 8 Blue. I averaged 10 points every game, 3 assists and 5 forced defensive turnovers. The biggest experience I had in the entire tournament is when we played against the Brea Lady Cats, I was tasked with guarding their best player man to man who was at least 3 inches taller and bigger. Although the task was not easy, I excelled by keeping the ball out of her hands and forcing her to turn the ball over when she did get it. Great tournament!

I played very aggressive on offense taking advantage of one on one matchups. Also on defense, my ball pressure kept my opponents extremely uncomfortable. Finally, because of the way I played, I received an invitation from Cal Storm to join their team.
