Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Kalen Green, Point guard for Seward County Community College women's basketball team. I started playing basketball in the fifth grade, and that’s where my love for the game of basketball grew stronger. During my seventh grade season, I lead my middle school basketball team in scoring but I also realized my ball handling needed improvement, so that summer I played AAU basketball, and worked on my ball handling every day with my dad. By putting in that extra time and hard work, it helped me to drastically improve my game. During my high school years, I worked even harder to improve myself as a player, working on all aspects of my game. I attended the Five Star Camp, made the All-Star team and won Most Talented Player. I’ve lead my high school teams in scoring, won MVP, made the All-Tournament team in 2 tournaments, and First Team All-District.
I am also dedicated to my academics, I currently have a 3.5 GPA, yet I'm still continually working hard to improve my grades and basketball skills. I know and understand there is always room for improvement on and off the court. I am a leader on my basketball team, as well as a team player. I believe a good attitude goes a long way, so I always try to stay positive. My passion is basketball, and I’m working hard every day to improve my game as a point guard and shooter. My goal now is to take my game to the next level which is playing basketball at a competitive 4 year university while earning my degree in Psychology.
