Amira Layeni '18 Recruiting Profile

I was on jr varsity the first two years of high school and on varsity for jr year.  I think I grew the most as a athlete my second year on JV, I learned that there were many different aspects to a student-athlete. That experience helped me grow as a person and a leader and also helped me to focus my own efforts on becoming a college bound athlete.

I have great leadership qualities both in the classroom and on the court. I am a very selfless, energetic, and a confident person. I love to help and lead others in the right direction. I learned the value and importance of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership since I joined my high school program. I want to take those lessons I have been through and apply them to being a student-athlete in college. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically and academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an impact on your program.
