Personal Statement
My first experience with basketball was at the age of four, when my parents signed me up for a LCAA basketball season. I loved running and being on a team, but I was not very good. I was faster and taller than all of the other kids, but I was a beginner. From that moment I began to get stronger and determined to figure this sport out. Fast forward to several years later, I participated in every summer basketball camp that I could attend and I was on a local inner city league. In junior high I was selected to play on an all-star team as their center player as well as being a leader on my seventh and eighth grade teams. I know my position and what I'm good at and I get 99% of the rebounds in every game. With my height and long arms and legs I am a valuable asset to the team. I can rebound and also handle the ball efficiently, therefore I can also run the court. My goals for the remainder of my high school career include dominating the court on the varsity team and being the best teammate I can be. In the classroom I work hard to maintain a certain level of excellance to prove that I am not just physically strong, but I am mentally strong. I desire to attend a university that offers me an opportunity to play basketball and to obtain a degree for a life long career. I know that Gods love for me has made me stronger at this sport and I aspire to give Him glory as I play the sport that I love.
