Playing basketball at a collegiate level has always been a dream of mine after watching a local player from our town get rewarded with a full ride scholarship to play basketball in college when she graduated. My thoughts were that if she can do it from this small town where we live, then I want to do the same. Basketball is my passion and I want to continue playing not only in college but also possibly after that. Being able to play overseas would be a second dream of mine. Being able to travel and see the world doing what I love, who wouldn’t want to do that?
Currently I’m a senior here at Lumberton High School in Lumberton, Texas and I am 5’8 weighing 135 pounds. My GPA is about a 3.7 and getting all A’s is my priority every semester. I have also been a starter on our varsity basketball team since I was a freshman. I play the PG (1) position mainly but am versatile and can play all positions. We run a motion offense with many options making us a very versatile team.
I have been to many camps and won awards, played in tournaments and won awards however being able to play at a higher level after high school would be an awesome reward for all the hard work that I have put into the player I am today. I am looking at all my options and letting the Lord lead me to where I need to play since without him I wouldn’t be the player or have the talents that I have today. “For all things are possible with Christ who strengthens me”. Phil 4:13
If I “commit my works to the Lord he will establish my plans” Proverbs 16:3
Without my faith I would not be able to play sports, have the relationship with my family and friends that I have or be the person that I am today.
