My name is Jordan Scoggins. I am a 5’9” point guard for Carbon High School. I have been the starting varsity point guard since my sophomore year. My freshman year I was the substitute on varsity. As a sophomore I was awarded second team all state. My goal is to attend a college that would not only give me the education that I need to succeed in a career, but that would allow me to be a part of a program that would improve my skills, and give me the opportunity to play the sport I love.
My desire to succeed not only is reflected on the court but in the class room. I currently have a gpa of 3.87. I have taken honor and pre-ap courses, two years of Spanish, along with other courses that would allow me to learn different skills. I am an active member of the National Honor Society.
I have an outgoing personality and make friends easily. I enjoy meeting new people and having a fun time, but I can be serious when it’s time for me to be. I am very competitive, I push myself and my teammates to improve with each practice and every game. I push myself to maintain my grades while being a member of the basketball team, volleyball team, and track team. Off the court I treat every girl as a friend and a family member by having fun, being supportive, and helping out. I like to be challenged, it gives me a chance to work harder and prove that I can do things.
I started playing basketball at the age of eight. It was then that I realized I had a natural ability and passion for the sport. My awareness for the court was really strong. Dribbling seemed to come naturally to me. So did my ability to read other players. Over the years, my passion for the sport only grew. I began to play basketball every chance that I got. There wasn't a time that I didn’t have a basketball in my hand. All I have wanted to be since I have touched a basketball is to play the sport for the rest of my life, and playing at a collegiate level will help satisfy this dream.
