Hope Simmons '17 Recruiting Profile

As an athlete I look to better myself on and off the court through my education, practice and social activities. Each day, through the discipline of basketball, I am a stronger person, player, and student. The game of basketball has taught me how to focus through an adrenaline rush and my competitive side has matured me through key game and life situations. Showing up is not just enough; hard work and perseverance are strong keys to being successful, even if winning isn’t always the outcome.

As an athlete aspiring to play at the collegiate level, my goals are those which pertain not only to my ability on the court but also the type of image I will carry with me and model to young female athletes. I aspire to be a college athlete who is also successful in the classroom. I know that hard work must occur not only when you show up to practice or games but also on your own time and that time management will play a large role in that since an athlete must learn how to balance an education along with the busy schedule that comes with being on a collegiate team.  As a player, I always look to be a positive leader and look to step up for any role that my team may need.
