Hi my name is Ali and I am a 17 year old senior at Wenatchee High School . Wenatchee is a 4A class school, the largest classification in Washington state. I have played basketball for the past 8 years in both school and AAU. I love basketball and my dream and goal is to play Division I basketball in college. I've started Varsity since my freshman year in high school. During my freshman year our team qualified for the Regional playoffs, and I was selected as 2nd Team All-Conference. My team was also selected as Academic State Champions. During my sophomore year, my team qualified for the District playoffs, I was selected as Honorable Mention All-Conference, and again my team was selected as Academic State Champions. My sophomore year, I was selected Team Captain by my teammates. I just completed my Junior year and our team finished 3rd in our league and qualified for the District tournament. I was named 2nd Team All Conference and 1st Team All Defense. I play wing and post positions on the court. My strongest skill is defense and rebounding. My coach always has me defend the opponent's best player because I am fast, tall at 6 feet (with a 74 inch wing span), and strong. I take pride in my defensive skills and love the challenge of guarding the best players.
In the spring and summer of 2014, I am playing AAU basketball with Sagebrush from Pasco Washington. My Sagebrush team is playing in several college viewing tournaments including tournaments in Phoenix April 25-27, Oregon City, Oregon July 5-8, Kirkland, Washington July 7-10, Music City Madness in Nashville July 22-25 and the Western U.S. Championships in San Diego July 27-30.
I am a 3 sport athlete and also play soccer and run track. In track I am a sprinter and our team's number 1 Long Jumper and Triple Jumper. As a freshman, I was the 1st leg in the 4x200 relay which placed 6th at the Washington State Track Meet. As a sophomore, I qualified at our District Meet in the 4x200 relay, and the Triple and Long Jumps. In soccer, I play middle defender and forward. This year our soccer team qualified for the State 4A Tournament . My team was named the Academic State Champions for fall sports. I was selected 2nd Team All Conference Defense.
The 3 sports I play require endurance, strength and stamina which are 3 of my strongest attributes. I am an extremely hard worker on the field/court and in the classroom with a GPA of 3.9. I will be a tremendous asset, athlete and teammate for any collegiate team I play for.
