Personal Statement
It's hard to put into words how much I love this game. I want to play in college because basketball brings me joy and has taught me about collaboration and character. Developing as a basketball player in college is as important to me as growing as a person and growing academically and I hope to play for a school at which I can develop strong relationships with my coaches, my teammates, and my professors.
Many players are taller than me, and as much as I work on my strength and speed I may not be the strongest or fastest player on the floor...but there will NOT be players on the court with a higher basketball IQ or a more fierce desire to contribute to their team's growth and success.
It is important to me to graduate with a degree that I'm proud of and can put to use to positively impact the broader community. I believe two important traits for any student athlete to possess are a relentless work ethic and a will to succeed on and off the court. I'm grateful for the incredible opportunities I've been given to realize my dreams and I work and study hard to maximize those opportunities. Michael Jordan has said that "some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen." I'll work hard to be an impact player and teammate and will make it happen.
