Personal Statement
My collegiate goal is to attend a University where my basketball skill set as a 3 point shooter, aggressive defender, and unselfish passer will be an asset, and I can play for a competitive team that has good chemistry between players and coaches, while studying nursing or physical therapy. My Junior season just finished, and our team made it to the Washington 4A State Championships. We lost our first state playoff game by 2 points in OT, to the team who finished 2nd. I look forward to working hard this upcoming club season where I will play for the Spokane Stars Blue team, coached by Ron Adams. I will be ready to lead our team back to the State Tournament next year, with the goal of winning a State Championship!
What makes me a good candidate for your team is that I'm a hard working, unselfish team player, with good leadership skills. I shoot 3's well, which makes defenses stretch out to cover me. I always hustle back on defense, and "talk" to my teammates. I understand passing angles, and have good court vision. Passing inside to posts, delivering the ball so it’s easy for them to go up and score, is one of my favorite parts of the game. Celebrating my teammates successes is one of the reasons I was a varsity captain my Sophomore and Junior years. I was named to the All-League Greater Spokane Team as an Honorable Mention my Sophomore and Junior seasons.
I work diligently in the classroom to keep my grades up, and am a leader in the classroom and around school as well. I was recently nominated for the Spokane Chase Youth Award in the Leadership Category. I did not win, but I was very honored to be nominated.
Thank you for your time, I look forward to speaking with you.
