My name is Afton Bartol and I am a 6'2 170 lb. center. I have played varsity basketball since my freshman year of high school, and in my three years of competing at the varsity level, my team has gone 70-76 and won three conference championships, along with three regional championships, one sectional championship, and one state championship (2016-2017). Winning state was truly a life and career changing experience that I was fortunate enough to participate in with my teammates and coaching staff. Within my three years of high school basketball, I have a career high 18 points and 10 rebounds as well as 10 assists. I was also fortunate enough to be a team captain my junior year and will continue to lead in that role my senior year. I thoroughly enjoy having the opportunity to encourage my teammates everyday in this position. I started playing basketball in the third grade and it has been an extremely important part of my life ever since. Through basketball, I have learned of my abilities to be a great leader and to accomplish anything that I put my all into. As a player, I am unique in the fact that I will take on any matchup on the defensive end. I live for a good challenge on defense and think that that makes me a valuable player to have on a roster. As a student, I am unique in the fact that I view school as a passion and value doing my best on every test and assignment to ensure that my grades remain at a competitive level. My academic goals for high school are to keep my GPA above a 3.9 and continue to make high honor roll consistently. As for college, I aspire to exceed in classes that I enjoy as well as to build an impressive transcript that will aid me in acceptance to a graduate school of my choice. I am very interested in majoring in psychology in college and am interested in universities that provide a competitive psych program that would allow me to be considered by sophisticated law or medical schools in the future. Thank you for considering my profile.
