Given that my statistics and videos are posted on my profile, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you some things about me that may not be readily apparent from my statistics and video.
Academics are very important to me and it is my goal to play basketball at a college with very strong academics. I have worked extremely hard in the classroom and in the gym to put myself in a position where I am confident that I have the ability to achieve both academically and athletically at a high level in college.
I love basketball and I love being part of a team. As a basketball player, I play for my teammates and am willing to sacrifice for the good of the team. I take responsibility for my role on the team and play that role to the best of my ability. I have put in many hours developing my individual basketball skills to become the best all-around basketball player I can be, and believe I am a versatile player capable of playing multiple positions and fulfilling various roles on a team. Also, as a member of a team, I feel I have a responsibility to my teammates and my coaches to work hard to continue to improve during both the season and offseason.
I strive to have a strong work ethic in all aspects of my life. I have learned that there are no shortcuts to success. Also, I feel that I have the physical and mental toughness to overcome adversity and to push myself when things get difficult.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
Sincerely,
Emma Jankowski
