Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Laney Havlovitz and I am a three-sport athlete at Wild Rose Highschool located in Wisconsin. I compete in cross country, basketball, and softball along with participating in several clubs during the school year, while still maintaining a 4.0 GPA. My father is a high school coach in three sports, so I grew up on the field and in a gym. My life has always revolved around sports. With being a coach's kid, I grew up going to practices and spending a tremendous amount of time with the players and teams. Seeing the different players and their attitudes toward the game helped me see different perspectives in the way the game was played. These perspectives helped me understand the meaning behind a leader (on and off the court) and how important they can be towards a team. I strive to develop strong relationships with my teammates and coaches to create the best possibility of achieving our end goal. At the end of the day, I love competing, I've always tried to make myself proud. Running cross country, being a softball pitcher and point guard allowed me to develop a strong mentality and overcome whatever was placed in front of me. I loved the challenge, which is why playing college basketball at the highest level couldn't sound better. Thank you!
