Rhegan Lesher '16 Recruiting Profile

    I apply myself 100%.  I have won awards in high school golf, including "most dedicated player" "all-league" and two "coach's award" for assistance and value, and I am currently Varsity Captain.  This season, I alone, qualified to represent my 12 girl team (2800 student high school) in league finals, finishing 9th of more than 100 league golfers!  I find that I am feeling most powerful and capable when I'm on the grass, and have been known to be on the course seven days a week!   Empowering myself with every swing, I am competitive in nature and will find ways to correct and offset issues when and where needed, as there is always room for improvement!

    As an International Baccalaureate diploma candidate, I already have some experience in college level academics and I have every intention of being a successful college student.  My goal is earning degrees and accolades wherever I find my hard work, experience and knowledge will be utilized, but also where I can learn, create and gain more knowledge and experience, in both the athletic and academic fields.  Professional degrees are my objective.

    My love for learning, performing and writing music, as a widely experienced musician, has given me the tools and multiple arenas to stay on track in day-to-day life!     Quitting is not an option for me, this is something I've learned through surgery recoveries as a child.  I have undergone many medical procedures, including open heart, minor brain, and two open torso spinal fusion surgeries in my youth, BUT not only did this give me the tools and stamina for doing anything I put my mind to, it also gives me the incentive to keep physically fit and gives great power for myself and those who support me to advocate for others. 

    As I have fallen in love with the game of golf, I have realized that it is a permanent part of my life, the different segments of it make-up what both challenge and satisfies me as an athlete, student and citizen.  I have always had the desire to experience all there is in my youth and young adulthood, especially being a successful college student and athlete!
