Personal Statement

I became serious about playing golf a little over four years ago, before that it was more for recreational fun.  I was into soccer and had played at a competitive level for over 6 years.  However after playing some local golf tournaments I decided I wanted to focus on golf more and really try to improve my game.  I take lessons each week and participate in at least one to two nationally ranked golf tournaments each month with various Junior Golf Tours.  Golf has had a great impact on my life and the lessons I have learned from this sport (humility, patience, confidence, persistence, dedication) I have channeled into my everyday life.  I am an International Baccalaureate scholar in school.  I study very hard and have a strong GPA.  I volunteer at my local community animal hospital and am a member of our Solutions Club at my school which reaches out to people in need at school and within my community.  I also have a part time job at my local golf course.  As you can see I am a very busy person, with golf as the source of my inspiration to be a better person and help others.  It is my dream to play golf in college.  I am hardworking, dedicated and motivated to do my very best, both on and off the golf course.
