Personal Statement
Disciplined is the word I would use to describe myself in both academics and golf. I practice 6 times a week and plan to play in at least 12 or more 2 day tournaments each year. I am determined to be the best on my high school team and would strive for the same with in college. I contributed to my high school golf team when we qualified for NCS and placed 1st in NCS Tournament of Champions in the 2015 season. I also have been given the wonderful opportunity to participate and volunteer for the The First Tee Tri-Valley. I use my skills and love for children to help teach younger classes and assist at fundraisers. Through The First Tee I received a full scholarship to participate in the IJGA Golf Academy at Hilton Head in South Carolina, and a week at the Life Skills and Leadership Academy in Blaine, Minnesota. I am most excited to represent the First Tee in The Nature Valley First Tee Open at Pebble Beach, with the Champion's Tour, which I was recently selected to attend. The First Tee has been one of the best things I have ever done because it has not only has taught me leadership skills and core values, and it has allowed me to play and share my passion for the game of golf. My goal over the next year is to lower my tournament scoring average and improve my Junior Golf Scoreboard Ranking.
At school, due to my diligent study habits I maintain my GPA at a 4.0. I participate in the classroom, manage my time well with homework and projects, study hard, and still have time to play and practice golf. My goal is to take Honors and AP classes while still maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout High School.
My ultimate aspiration is to use my gifts to give back to the community. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the golf course and become a well-rounded student who is a a role model to all peers.
