Personal Statement
My name is Sabrina Fonda and I enjoy reading, hanging out with my family and friends, and playing golf. I have been playing golf since I was seven years old when my father first introduced me to the sport. Over the years, I have had my ups and downs while playing. This sport has tested my mental strength over and over and I believe that it has made me a better person. Through golf, I have learned important values such as honesty, integrity, and persistence that are present in my personality no matter what I am doing. I love that golf is an individual sport and that it is up to me to commit, put in the effort, and perform. However, I love being on a team and very much enjoy my high school team. I love being able to have such close bonds with my teammates and to always be there for each other. I strive to be a leader and solid teammate by leading by example, supporting my teammates during difficult rounds and following the lead and direction that our coach establishes. As for playing college golf, I want to take my game to the next level, take pride in representing a school, establish close friendships with my teammates, and work with my future coaches to be the best player and person that I can be.
Although I think that having down time with my family and friends is extremely important, school, golf, and fitness are main priorities in my life. During the school golf season, I practice five days a week and workout twice a week. After golf season, I workout and practice about three to four times a week. Maintaining good grades is also very important to me. I have a GPA of 3.4/4.0 and I received an 1140/1520 on my PSAT in October of 2015. I put in a lot of time with my teachers to make sure that I can balance school work with golf and fitness. In college, I would like to major in business and work my hardest to have great grades while also contributing to the team and representing my school on the golf course to the best of my abilities. I look forward to growing as a golfer and as a person and to put all of my effort towards my goal of playing college golf.
