Personal Statement
I am a purposeful and driven student athlete at Rochester High School. My zealousness for academic success has led me to be at the absolute top of my class nearly all of my high school career, and my ambition to succeed in competitive golf has caused me to play in the second position on my high school team, often having comparable scores with the number one varsity player. I have played a crucial role in allowing my team to make it to Regionals my Freshman year, and the State Championship my Sophomore and Junior year. I belong to a very large family (ten children total), and that has influenced me in that it has made more generous and giving of my time, as well as motivated to stand out in every area of my education and athletic career. My willingness to throw myself into arduous extracurricular activities has ensured that I have a high work ethic and aptitude for time management. I have been a devout Christian and have played golf my entire life, and both of these factors have caused me to learn the art of self control; on the course, many parents and followers have made observations and comments to me about my excellent attitude and optimism. I take pride in not only succeeding on the scoreboard, but succeeding in my own emotional management and interpersonal relations with others on the playing field. In college, I intend to challenge myself academically and be a strong asset to the golf team of that respective university.
