Personal Statement
Although I have only been pursuing a career in golf for three years, I feel that my strong desire, athletic ability and love of the game will allow me to become a highly competitive college golfer. My dad has instilled a passion in me to be involved in college athletics, due to the fact he was fortunate enough to play Division One collegiate baseball. I believe that participating on a college athletic team for a sport that I love will lead to many successes in life.
Being a part of a team is something that brings me joy. I made the high school team as a Freshman in both lacrosse and golf, where I was the only girl player. I was the number 2 player on the golf team this year, along with being a starter on the lacrosse team my sophomore year.
I aspire to be constantly healthy, athletic and challenged by my academics. I do this by going to the gym almost every day with the goal of becoming the top high school female golfer in the state of Maine. I was 10th my freshman year, 6th my sophomore year and 4th my junior year. My goal is in sight!
Having grown up in a house with only a father, whose work as an airline pilot requires a lot of travel, an older brother and my grandfather (my mom moved away when I was very young), I've learned to be independent and self sufficient. I really believe I have what it takes to play at the college level and am excited to start this next chapter of my journey in golf and life.
