Personal Statement

I grew up in a sports family and have always enjoyed participating in all types of team sports. When I was introduced to golf several years ago, I had no idea what an impact the sport would have on me. The integrity of the game is the most important part of why I love the game so much. You are your own referee, keep your own score and sign your own scorecard. Working toward my goal of playing for highly competitive university or college golf program has been an amazing journey. I have traveled across the country to compete in tournaments and the experiences have given me so many life lessons. Additionally I have made some of my closest friends through  golf, from many states and different countries. As I look back over the last few years,  I cannot imagine my life without playing golf.

My main goal in choosing a school and golf program is to surround myself with coaches and teammates who are committed to the same goals and are willing to work toward those goals together. Playing golf in a team setting is something I am really looking forward to doing while in college. I have had the opportunity to be on several match cup teams and I love the pressure of having others count on me to come through for the team. Being a good teammate and leading by example are two things that my parents have always instilled in me. I consider them to be two fundamental traits that I need to do on a daily basis.

Although I love golf, I am very committed to my studies and will continue to do so in college. Attending a university that is known for their high academic standards is an important factor in finding a good fit. I am currently interested in earning a business degree after four years and hope to merge my love for golf into a business career. Knowing how much golf has meant to me, I hope I can pass my knowledge and passion on to junior golfers either through camps or clinic settings. After college, I plan on competing in tournaments and events wherever I can.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
