After competing on my high school team as a freshman, I knew I wanted to play golf at the collegiate level, so I competed in my first junior golf event in the winter of my freshman year. Since I found my passion later than most of the other junior golfers, I have had to work harder and push myself more than others to catch up and pass my competitors.
Through playing golf at a competitive level, I have learned how to stay calm in difficult situations, and it has also helped me in the classroom. I want to play golf while focusing on academics as well because school has always been important to me. I am a good teammate as well as leader, demonstrated by being the team captain of my high school team and top scorer.
