Personal Statement
As a kid, I would play golf for fun with my family but never really played a full round. In seventh grade, my dad encouraged me to try out for JV instead of starting with the developmental team. I made the JV team and played my first round of competitive play. I enjoyed the competition immediately, I wanted to get better and never looked back. Since then, I've only wanted to work harder to get to the next level. By the start of 8th grade, I earned the 6th spot on Varsity and helped my team take 2nd place at section finals. By 9th grade, I earned all conference honorable mention and helped the team win sections with a low round of 77 and we made it to 3A MN State Championships. By 10th grade, I earned first place in the conference, and our team made a repeat appearance to 3A MN State and finished 2nd. This year my goal is to defend my conference medalist title and for our team to defend our conference and section championship titles which will take us back to State.
I am a two sport athlete with three years of AAU basketball, playing for the MN 36ers. At times, my 36ers season and golf season overlapped. So, I work hard and I'm committed to my teams while pushing myself in the classroom, challenging myself with difficult courses to prepare for college. I also play JV/Varsity basketball for the Forest Lake Rangers to stay active and it's always fun to be in the game. I am honored to have been named MVP this past season and named captain for next year.
Playing college golf is is my goal while pursuing my undergraduate degree. I LOVE golf when it is good and bad. I hope you will take a critical look at my golf and look at me as person too!
