Personal Statement
Hello Coach,
My name is Emilee Wenmoth and I am a junior at North Davidson High School in North Carolina. I have played tournament golf for only a couple of years now, and just recently decided to commit myself to the game. I've played travel soccer for most of my life, which is why I'm just now getting into the game of golf. This past summer I was able to shoot my best scores including 73, 74, 78, and 79. This past season on the high school team I averaged 39 for 9 holes. In a practice round with my dad I shot 67, which is my personal best. Before these scores I was shooting mid 80s to low 90s. I never dreamed I could play as well as I have this year. This showed me that I do have the potential to go low and be competitive. I am still getting better, and have not reached my full golf potential yet. I know with the right coaching, I will be able to compete at the college level. My strength is definitely my short game and being able to figure out swing flaws while correcting them as the round progresses. My biggest challenge right now is not being long enough. I am currently working on gaining more distance off of the tee. Another weakness has been starting this process and getting into golf so late compared to the other players in the field. I look forward to playing on the Bell division of the Peggy Kirk Bell tour since this will push me as a player and give me a taste of what it will be like to play at a collegiate level. Thank you for considering me as a prospective player for your team.
